DUCK HUNTING in SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA

Duck Hunting in Venice, Louisiana, and its surrounding areas offers waterfowl hunters an outstanding hunting experience. The Mississippi River Delta provides approximately 200,000 acres of exceptional habitat for waterfowl, with an abundance of food, brush, water, and security. November through January offers the best duck hunting as the Delta and the end of the Mississippi Flyway are home to many species of ducks and geese, including but not limited to, Pintails, Widgeon, Teal (Blue-Wing, Green-Wing, & Cinnamon), Red Heads, Mallards, Canvasbacks, Gadwall, Greys, Scaup, Black Ducks, Woodies, Mottle Ducks, Shovelers, and Geese, among others. With so many species just a duck-call away, duck hunting is made exciting as hunters don't know what they are going to shoot next when they look down the barrels of their shotguns.

Our duck hunting guides use shallow draft boats, referred to in our area as go-devils. Hunters may duck hunt from the go-devils, which convert into moving blinds, allowing hunters to move when the wind, water, or birds  move. Or in the alternative, the guides will drop off and pick up duck hunters from the blinds.

Each duck hunting guide usually brings 2 to 3 hunters per duck hunt, and multiple boats are available for large groups of up to 40 people.

Kingfish Lodges has private rentals available for lodging, and the world-class Venice Palms Lodge offers the finest full service lodging, which includes meals, drinks, and lodging.
